RULES AND REGULATIONS

Club Rules

  • 1a      Full membership is available:- To residents and ex-residents of Horsted Keynes.

  • 1b      Associate membership is available to people living outside the parish of Horsted Keynes (at the                discretion of the committee)

  • 2        Only Full Members have the right to vote and become elected officers and committee members.

  • 3a      Junior membership is available to persons under the age of 16 years

  • 3b      All juniors under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by a senior.

  • 3c      Juniors over the age of 12 years must have their own E.A licence.

  • 4        All members fish at their OWN risk.

  • 5a      Members must always have in their possession an official membership card when angling on club            waters (a club badge is not sufficient) and Valid E.A licence.

  • 5b      Members, Bailiffs, Gamekeepers or owner’s agents all have the authority to ask you for your                        membership. Members are asked to challenge in respectful terms any suspect persons who may              be on the fishery and if not satisfied to inform the secretary, an officer, committee member or                     bailiff with car  registration number. where possible, also report any misuse of club waters.

  • 6       No night fishing allowed

  • 7a     No cans are allowed on club waters, bottles (preferably not glass) that are marked with the                          members name and membership number.

  • 7b     Members must not be on the waters until 6 hours before the start of the season, except when on                official work parties.

  • 8       Parking of vehicles must be in the authorised car parks situated adjacent to lake 4 just off the                    Cinder Track, and Rushy car park. Access to these car parks is from the school end of the Cinder              track ONLY. NO VEHICLES are allowed to be driven along the Cinder Track past Lake 4

  •  9a    Members are required to keep to the immediate vicinity of the waters and are not to trespass upon            any adjoining lands.

  • 9b     Members must not stray more than 15 yards from the water's edge and no branches to be broken              from trees nor rushes cut down indiscriminately.

  • 9c     Members must not enter club waters unless in extreme circumstances to assist fish in distress.

  • 9d     No lethal weapons, no fires under any circumstances, no radios or musical instruments, no                          interfering with trees, all livestock or game, no bad behaviour to be allowed on our waters.

  • 9e     No animals to be taken onto club waters

  • 10     All gates MUST be kept closed.

  • 11     No litter must be left especially weights, line, hooks and unused ground bait, sweat corn etc.                      Members are responsible for all litter in their swim.

  • 12      The following baits are prohibited:- All nut baits, and Bloodworm.  Boillies may be used but as                    hookbait ONLY!.

  • 13      Only 2 rods per member may be used on club waters and within a radius of 15 yards. Gaffs are                     banned  at all times including for pike.

  • 14      If a rod is left unattended the hook must be withdrawn from the water and the hook made safe.

  • 15      Any member vacating a swim for more than 30 minutes shall remove all their gear and tackle from               their swim.

  • 16a      Keepnets to be micro mesh with a minimum length of 6 feet and a minimum diameter of 18 inches.

  • 16b      No carp to be kept in keepnets except during competitions.

  • 17        All fish to be returned to the water, no fish from any source to be introduced into the club waters                             except with club authority. No fish to be taken away.

  • 18        All live fish bait is strictly prohibited.

  • 19        Club waters will be closed on competition days during the event, all times and dates as per list.

  •  20       Any correspondence to national or local press, radio, or television should be by secretary's sanction                     only.

  • 20a      The publication of any HKAC media (Photos, Video clips ets) through social media sites or any web                       related electronic media is strictly prohibited.

  • 21        If anything arises which is not provided for in these rules, the same should be laid before the committee               who shall have full power to act in the matter, their decision shall be final and binding.

  • 22        Members found to be in breach of the club rules maybe suspended or expelled from the club.

  •             SPECIAL RULES FOR LAKE 1

  •  

  • 1          Minimum line strength 10 lbs.

  • 2          Barbless hooks only (Min Size 14).

  • 3          Use unhooking mats for Carp.

  • 4          Carp must be weighed only in proper weighing slings.

  • 5          Landing nets must be a minimum size of 36 inches.

  • 6          Keep nets are not allowed. (Except during competitions)Fish are to be released back into the water as                   soon as unhooked.

  • 7          Baits as current rules.

  •  

  •             RULES FOR PIKE FISHING

  •  

  • 1.         Wire traces, Semi-barbless trebles, and Up-traces to be used which must be longer than the snap                           tackle. 

  • 2.         Unhooking mats and 36" landing nets to be used.

  • 3.         No gags (Forceps must be used when unhooking fish).

  •  

  •             The Pike season will be Oct 1st to the end of the normal season.

  •  

  •             Fishing season from 16th June to 14th March inclusive

  •  

  •             Club Waters are located along the left side of the Cinder Track from St Giles school end (Horsted                          Keynes) and are all clearly marked as H.K.A.C club waters.

  •
